Couldn't really visit it like you can visit the White House in DC but it was okay. Took really cool pictures outside of the armed gates.
Beautiful building...you will only be able to see it from the outside...gardens are well kept...it is extremely difficult to be able to enter...
Very nice and well maintained building (something you would expect given it houses the government). Couldn't get inside as the president was there and was to be heading to the helicopters shortly. Had army personnel on the outside ensuring no one stopped in front of it. Worth checking out.
This is a good beautiful building from the outside. I have been on walking tours around the building yet never visited the interior.
I did not go inside. I just walked along and took pictures of the building before going to Zona Colonial. Its in a generally safe area. You can walk there from 27 de Feb. Just take the bus or a Guagua and get off at Doctor Delgado.
Even though several guide books say we could enter, this is absolutely not so. We peeked thru the iron fence as our Viator guide stopped our bus. Grounds and palace beautiful but not open to visitors.
This place is a great location for a picture. It is the Dominican version of the white house but it is beige.
Nice to see, but don't list it as a must see as it is just another government building with cool architecture. Quite "Whitehouse" looking.
The national palace is a very impressive work of architecture. You may need to find out in advance what their protocols for visits and tours are, because they may not be very regular.
The national palace is pretty, especially at night. I would recommend it as part of a long walking tour.
