This is a great local attraction, especially for kids and out of town guests. It's a rather unique event and it gives you a chance to see historical Stone Mountain. I've been a handful of times and it's never boring! The show changes every year. The admission is free once you pay for parking. Not a bad deal, so fill your car up with people and check it out!
We loved the show. Totally different than a german Lasershow. It was sooo coool. Only the moskitos where a bit of a hassle but besides that, the kids and adults loved it.
Read up about the technology on their website. Very impressive. But the tacky cartoons for some songs are embarrassing compared to the elaborate ones. Choice of songs pretty bad... they are obviously trying to include every musical genre. Get there early for best seats. Bring blankets or chairs. Avoid end of the season when they build a mountain of snow that blocks the views. Rent one of the many private patios (in advance) for good views and 'free' popcorn&drinks.
Probably would have been cool in the early 80's, but a bit cheesy to enjoy in a high-tech era today.
Good for Kids!!!!!Show : Sequencing of story board is excellent, but it lacks effect of lasers and music.Music: The Speakers are not that great it lacks the bass... they have to plan for more speakers and subwoofers as its huge lawn.Dont forget to have a blanket or folding chairs. The Laser show is free but, $10 parking fee to enter the Park.
Do not miss this! check the park website for their schedule. Love the show during the summer months, I have seen it every year for 15 year and still love it!
No one in our group of four enjoyed the show. In fact, we left early. It was basically just of poorly drawn animations projected on the side of the mountain. You can see a video online of the entire show to see what you are in store for. However, the park itself was beautiful. Just skip the laser light show...
What a great show, and you can even get a shuttle ride from campground. Must see while visiting....!
The laser show has been vastly improved since our last visit. It is really something to see, and worth hanging around for at days' end. As of Oct., 2014 they were adding new seating, and making other improvement that will make your experience more enjoyable.
What a show, for free! Well worth the time, inspiring, patriotic and well done. Snow Mountain being constructed so seating on the lawn was not available; get there early for good viewing spots as lots of people there, even for mid-October.
