great place to try some local beer, good prices, but no food was a bummer - just some beer nuts - glad we stopped by here though
I was amused by some or the irritated comments of a couple of reviewers criticizing this place for its lack of pool and ping pong tables and, God forbid, no television. This place is a brewery, not a sports bar or restaurant!! A brewery is a place where you go to sample a brewer's beer at its freshest and enjoy the company of others who have a serious interest in the art of brewing. If you're lucky, you'll get a chance to talk to the guy who made the beer and, maybe get a quick tour of the brewery. If you don't have those interests, head on over to Siren's or the Uptown pub.If beer is your thing, however, this is, indeed, the place you'll want to be. Sit at the bar -you'll have to carry your own beer to a table, if you don't - and you will likely to find a couple of friendly locals who will help guide you through you adventures. The beer will taste better here than it will in nearly any other place you will drink it. That's because it's as fresh as it can possibly be. I won't get into all of the technicals, but fresh beer on tap is always the best. Most of the beers here seem "healthy" when you drink them. It's like eating fresh baked bread (good for you!) vs. week old store bought bread. If you want to prove this to yourself, have a pint of Scotch ale at the brewery and go across the street and buy a bottle of the same stuff at Safeway. The bottle beer will be good, but it won't hold a candle to the same beer you had at the brewery.Port Townsend Brewery is my favorite local brewery. If you like heavier, complex beers that are as fresh as they can be, you should like it, too. If Coor's Light is your thing, stay away from this place!
Ever since Carter Camp became the head brewer, these beers have ROCKED. I'm not an expert, but have a friend who is and both of us thing the beer is the best. Various styles, so you're certain to find one that you'll enjoy. Fun ambience -- especially on a day when you can sit outside and listen to live music. Their sampler/taster tray is fun, too, if you're curious about all the different types of beers.
Top notch beer selection served in a warehouse tasting room situated in an industrial area next to a boat yard. Great atmosphere and friendly environment. They need to expand and serve food.
Went to see a concert and was accosted by an angry hostile woman who turned out to be the owner. She screamed and ranted and raved about something that I really did not ever understand. Beware - she owns the place and is there all the time! Watch out for her!
The Port Townsend Brewery makes great beers and provides a great space for enjoying them. Smack in the middle of the Boat Haven, you are surrounded by much of what makes Port Townsend such a magical place. The beer garden jumps with really good music during the summer. And the great beers are there year round. My faves: Chet's Golden, Boatyard Bitter and the Porter. And if you buy take away bottles at the brewery you save a good bit over what you'll pay in any store around town.
It was a rainy afternoon and what better place to find yourself then in a Brewing Company. Great selection, and delicious beer.
We have had a wonderful summer here in Port Townsend. And the music at the brewery has been fantastic. The Delta Rays, The Better Half, Bad Dog Blues. Wonderful. Dancing and drinking beer on a Friday night. A new act was in town this year, and is a show not to be missed. Lobo Del Mar put on some fabulous acts. Not to be missed. They will return September 24. Don't miss it!!!
This brewery does not serve food, but has a fantastic porter. Their others beers were good too, but we got stuck on the porter. A fun place.
The brewery offers a cozy tasting room and in the summertime concerts on Friday evenings in the beer garden. Today the brewery bottles 10 beers. Whatever your preference in beer may be - you'll find a delicious pint or two waiting for you at the Port Townsend Brewing Company.
