You won't regret it, it is beautiful. It is only open during service hours, there is a 8:15 and 10:15 service on Sundays.
Take the time to take in the beauty of St. Nickolas Church. We were lucky and found a member who explained some keys about the Orthodox religion. The Church is easy to find and we were very welcome to visit.
The interior of the church is beautiful and a shrine to the faith. The dome, icons and stained glass windows along with the copper dome are all gorgeous.
Just go in! Whether during a liturgy or not. You would never think a small town like Tarpon Springs would have a church like this- but of course this is a very large and old traditional Greek community- so it makes sense!
We could not believe how beautiful the inside of the church was. Your first look inside the door is just breathtaking. We walked around thru it and admired the stained glass windows and the altar. Would love to come back and attend a church service there. Just a fyi they do close at 5.It is worth the time to stop here.
This cathedral has the most amazingly beautiful decoration and painting I've ever seen . Certainly up to European standards and beyond. Well worth a visit.
This cathedral has lovely glass and icons with GOD The Father reigning from the top of the ceiling. A visit here is worth the trip to Tarpon Springs.
We stopped at this church as we were exploring Tarpon Springs and this stop was very interesting. The people in the church were welcoming and that was very nice.
I have been wanting to stop by here for 6 months and when I did today, I wished I had earlier. Truly beautiful! I have never been in a Greek Orthodox Cathedral before and it was breathtaking. Be sure to read about the portrait of St. Nicholas.
After seeing a photo of St. Nicholas Cathedral in Tarpon Springs, Florida, we made a special trip to see it. What a beautiful church. It was open during the day and we were allowed to walk around and see all the wonderful art work. Worth the trip!
