You can drive on the beach, or rent a little buggy to drive along the water. Wide beach with nice sand!
I love this beach! Sand, water, clear blue sky.... Water is wavy, so you cannot swim much, but you can dive in and then lay out on the sun and just enjoy the day. You can walk for miles with your feet in the water. Great place for surfers (school of surf at the beach). There are several restaurants at the beach and trucks with food and drinks are available. Beach is wide and although full of visitors, you can always find perfect spot for yourself to enjoy the peace. Fabulous sunsets and dawns at this beach, so don't miss either of these.
Very nice beach, shallow water so you can wade quite far. Surf is usually small but, at the inlet, waves are good and a favorite for surfers.
Really liked it here ,took a chance visit while on holiday in orlando , so pleased we did, will be going back again, loved that you can drive on the beach and the shops were so quirky a real gem ,
New Smyrna Beach is one of the state's nicest beaches. It is extremely wide when the tide is out and offers plenty of room for the many folks who enjoy the beach year-round. A portion of the beach is open to traffic but car speeds are carefully regulated. No dogs or alcoholic beverages are allowed, and these regulations are enforced by frequent patrols. Like other Florida beaches, there are occasional large populations of jelly fish that wash ashore. There have also been some shark bites. But those things do not seem to deter people. The beach can get very crowded. There are also sections of the beach where traffic is not allowed. Also, like so much of Florida, the economy depends heavily on tourism, and some cities and counties take this too far to the point of exploiting tourists. A good example of that is that the cost of driving one's car onto the beach for a day of fun and sun is unreasonably high and increased this year. The beach is "owned" by the county and the county government sees tourists almost solely as revenue sources. And there are not many good places to park if you don't take your car on the beach. So that is a downside. Still, it is one of the state's most beautiful beaches.
Im a life long resident of New Smyrna Beach. It has been ruined by greed. Great if you like sitting still in traffic and paying $10 a day to use a parking lot.
New Smyrna Beach, FL has nice quaint shops downtown on Flagler St & Canal Street. It is maticulous every where we saw. Lots of water activities to suit everyone. A very family friendly community!
Glad the beach has a large patio area where our dog is welcomed. Our dog is the welcome ambassador. Many people stop by and say hello and shake his paw.
You can drive on the beach and that is one of the highlights of this beach. Other than that, it is an average beach with flat surface, slow waters, long walkable areas and beautiful sunsets. The day i was here, it was a little windy so it was not super comfortable. it does get cold in November around these parts of Florida.
Loved this beach and surroundings so many things to do the beach is breath taking the gift shops have something for everyone really enjoyed this place
