The Lesher Center has 3 performance venues under one roof and hosts multiple productions and programs throughout the year from musicals to dramas to concerts and speakers including a recently established summer jazz series. The performance caliber is quite high, parking is readily available, area restaurants are numerous and the production staff is very professional. This center is a real jewel supporting the San Francisco East Bay and it works hard to maintain contact and relevance to its community. Give yourself a treat and attend an event there.
Love that we can have live theatre in Walnut Creek. Productions are excellent and access a breeze.. Fabulous
It's wonderful that Walnut Creek has this nice theater. There are music concerts, plays, ballet and other school activities. It has a gallery in the first floor. This theater elevates the category of the city.
Was impressed w/ the gallery space & selection of pieces in the current exhibit (Skull Show, Summer 2014). Admission was $5. I will keep an eye on their website to see what other events are coming up- whether musical or fine art!
We spend lots of time at the Lesher Center for the Arts in that there are not only three theaters that we attend, but the Bedford Gallery on the first floor has five or six new shows each year, all of which are very well curated and many of which have a number of interesting exhibits.
My partner and I saw a contemporary jazz show at this theater and it was really lovely. The place has fantastic acoustics. The Lesher Center is known throughout the area as a place to take in a fun, fabulous show at regional theater prices. They have so many different events here every week, it is worth a visit!
Lesher Center for the Arts has all kinds of performances, such as, theater, symphonies and many more. We saw Guys and Dolls in their large theater. All seats were good, we had seats in O row left with only 1 row behind us. The view of the stage was good as was the play. The Center is in downtown Walnut Creek with lots of restaurants to go to before you go to the theater. There is parking next door to the Lesher Center. I paid $2.50 but there was a sign that said $5.00, I must of gotten in before 6 pm. There is also an art exhibit in the Lesher Center which is free with your ticket but to me that was too much. There are nice chairs to sit in, if you can get one before the performance. It was our first time at the Center but won't be the last. Bathrooms not the best.
Take advantage of what is in your city.Took my 7 year old to see the skull themed art show, and he loved it. He was thrilled to see pieces from decades ago, and what you can do with different materials. He now wants to go back to the gallery the day they are having a family class making clay skulls. fantastic!
Attended a performance of Bye Bye Birdie, the theatre is intimate with good sight lines and sound. When we first arrived there was some confusion as to which theatre we were supposed to go to and we were directed to the incorrect theatre. Parking easy, the garage next door is very inexpensive. Many restaurants nearby for pre or post performance dining.
We are so lucky to live in Walnut Creek and have a very nice performing arts center. There is always a variety of shows in the three theatres and a rotating art collection. Parking is next door. Lots of restaurants in the area.
