Basically another road along the beach. There were a couple of neat trails but saw very few feathered friends. Did spot 1 indigo bunting
I love birds and it was fabulous to be able to either walk or bike along the trail and stop to take pictures of birds en route.
We love taking long walks while on vacation. We go to Jeff Friends trail and the BonSecour nature trails in Gulf Shores. Its a nice pleasant walk
The boat ride was smooth and the water was clear. there were fish in the nets which drew the birds to us. Many dolphins too...Not as many birds as I would of like to see, but there are other trips that I heard was better.
So easy to follow the trails of different lengths, so no matter your time/physical limits, you can see things you've never seen in any other area. Loved the signage
The birding trail is directly in the path of migrating birds in the spring and fall. With the mild winters, opportunities abound.
Took advantage of traveling to some of the spots here. Maps were well marked. Not a good season to see birds but was good to get out
The coastal birding trail always makes me slow down a bit and be patient. I've followed a few of the trails from the guide and it's a great way to show your in town guests around as well...
We sampled several sections of the trail & all were well marked with clear signs & distance markings. Parking is ample & we came across an occasional outhouse (solar powered fans - not that primitive). We didn't really expect to see many birds this time of year, we did enjoy seeing new (to us) types of wild flowers. One tip is that some of the trails traverse sandy areas so case that out before you go as it is much more tiring.
While spending a month in Orange Beach stopped at various Coastal Birding Trail spots. The signs for Coastal Birding along with stop numbers made it fun and interesting. The stops covered a variety of habitats. Since we were there in February we only noted about10 or 12 different birds.
