Really enjoyed this little place, so interesting to see all the butterfly's hatching. Defiantly worth taking your time to go around and really look. I walked around several times, spent an hour there. Your given a print out with the breeds so you can identify each species. Really worth a visit.
Went here over xmas .It was a nice place to vsit ,there were only about 10 people there but the staff were all nice and extremely helpful. Most of the butterfly were sleeping ,it was freezing outside and the sun was going down.Still it was very nice and we will be going back there again in the warmer wheather
We got the three attraction ticket which is for the Maze, Golf and Butterfly farm. The butterfly farm was very interesting and had so many different butterflies a few even landed on us. It was great fun. Had a lovely day at all three attractions then topped it with lunch at the hotel across the road in their beer garden. All in all it was a lovely day.
I don't think there's much I can write as a review - this is a large shed, filled with interesting plants and much more interesting butterflys. There's plenty of information, and, well, lots of butterflys. All beautiful, varied and fascinating. It is a little short, as the shed is on its own and not huge, but it really is all about the butterflys, and they're lovely. Great for photos, and the price is very reasonable for the sheer number of butterflys that land on you, especially if you do the maze and/or mini-golf too.
Surrounding area is quite shabby. The staff at the butterfly zoo were very nice and friendly.Shop had a run down feel to it.I was disappointed that the area where the butterflies are is small. You keep bumping into the same people as you wander around.A larger area would be far more suitable.Great for photos and entrance fee i think is too high.
We had heard that this place was well worth a visit and walked from our hotel. This involved taking the hand ferry across the river which was fun. The staff were very welcoming. We were there at the same time as a cub pack who were having a great time. The butterflies were beautiful and stunning flowers.
We decided to go last minute in December having driven up that way to see clearwell caves and wanted another attraction to visit while we were there. This place is open all year around and if you do the mini golf, butterflies and maze you get a good discount. It's always quiet and you get lovely personal service from the staff there, you feel welcome and we have never had a bad visit. It's a shame the garden centre next door is closed now as it was nice having a stroll around in there also.
its great to get close up to nature the butterflies are spectacular and children & adults alike are given sheets and a magnifying glass to identify each one.On the down side (for obvious reasons) its extermely warm and stuffy inside
Lots of butterflies in bright colours, good information, bright staff, OK cafe. Worth the visit for old and young
Wonderful way to view the butterflies up close. Beautiful setting and it's lovely that you can walk around casually at your own pace, and take lots of photographs!
