Good way to see some of city from a different prospective. Good value for money. Relaxing way to chug up and down the creek hopping on and off at the likes of the science museum, Yaletown and Gandville Island.
From Burrard st. to Quebec st. the loop is 8km. Great for a run, especially early in the morning. On the way you pass by Granville island, telus world of science and edgewater casino. The view is awesome.
False Creek is just that, an inlet from the sea around which was once an industrial area cleaned up and converted to the Expo site (year?) and now rehabilitated to high rise residential buildings. A pleasant walk along the promenade takes one past low rise and intimate apartments, parks and yummy yachts alongside marinas. turn back towards the city on Davie St and visit the old railway roundhouse and museum accommodating the first locomotive into Vancouver on the Canadian Pacific. Typically, this area was largely railroad lands and warehouses in the early days. or double back to Granville island on one of the ferries
Great place to be in Vancouver. If you are walking along the seawall there are many options to grab an aqua bus (like a water taxi) to get you to a different spot like Science World or Granville Island market or the Acquarium. So much to see and do.
nice food and shopping ans right on the water. The ethnic food and produce was fantastic easy bus ride to false creek and return.
After Stanley Park, this has to be the best walks in Vancouver. A must if you are visiting the city. It can easily take over 3 hours to do a complete tour but you can stop for food and drinks at Granville Island or many other restaurants and eateries along the way.
I am fortunate enough to live in this part of the world...so I have had the pleasure of paddling False Creek many time before. There is so much to see from wildlife to the marina life to the seawall action to the cityscape to the other paddlers. Stanley Park to Science World to the Maritime Museum. So much to do from Granville Island to any number of places where you can slip out of the kayak and get onto the seawall. If you have 3-4 hours to explore False Creek and 5-6 to explore Stanley Park, English Bay and False Creek I would highly recommend renting a kayak and doing so.
Name rings very true. This is not a Creek! Great area, Lots of little restaurants, shops and places to explore. Go explore Science World. Fantastic for the kids. Dragon Boat racing can also be viewed as there are local meets in this area.
False Creek has many different areas and faces. I particularly enjoy the south side from Granville Island Market out to the Cambie Bridge. The region is full of restaurants, artisan shops, boat tours and hundreds of moored yachts. There is always something happening, and it is a great place for people watching. Check it out on a sunny day.
Best kept secret I almost hate to share as it might become popular...the aqua bus is fun and neat way to see the inner harbour and downtown and quite reasonable for the whole ride.
