Beautifully presented and animal enclosures are very authentic! Lots of amenities, food stalls and picnic areas.
The rooms are small, but tidy, I have stayed twice, and would definitely pay that little extra for a bigger suite. The pool area could do with a bit of a fix, the salt water from the pool had eroded the tiles surrounding it. The grounds are immaculately kept, and are beautiful. The mansion its self is stunning. I will be staying again next year, for the festival. SFSC2016
Plenty of room for a picnic under shaded trees and easy to walk paths. The Gardens are also gorgeous and interesting.
Werribee Rose Garden was one of those unexpected surprises we stumbled upon on our way to visiting the zoo. It turned out to be one of the most stunning rose gardens we have ever seen. We visited during January 12-15 and everything seemed to be in bloom. It was all free, which was great for our family. There was plenty to explore apart from the rose garden, and if you have a liking for blue wrens it is not difficult to spot them here!
Gardens are spectacular, great for picnics and heaps of room. We just went into the mansion for a look A bit over priced for entry.
Very nice to visist, the food very nice and well presented. It is a place for a treat, But I hate to say, it is not a place for pensioners, .
Visited the Zoo, which is first class, specially for our grandchildren. The entire precinct is well maintained with easy access.
Werribee park includes werribee zoo and Victoria state rose garden. The Zoo is very good and has a safari bus ride too. I am in a wheelchair and staff got me up on the bus via a hoist.Rose garden was good but not great. A lot of rust and black spot on roses spoilt it a bit
the mansion and the grounds are stunning! But the cafe is a complete disappointment. It's awful in every sense of the word. Only a few kilometers from Melbourne, yet I feel Like I've stepped back in time to the 1970s... before anyone knew how to make coffee, and would blithely serve you instant coffee. Actually instant coffee is better than this dishwater I was served! It's a ghastly cafeteria complete with long queue, old tired food, plastic decor destroying any 19th century atmosphere. This place is a giant disappointment.
The mansion, grounds and the rose garden was beautiful on a glorious afternoon! What a shame we decided to go for a coffee and snack as it was a real disappointment! The food displayed was limited and didn't look appetizing at all. Our decision to have coffee there and go elsewhere for lunch was not a good idea as the coffee was disgusting! Looked awful and instant coffee would have been better. I had to repeat my order for 5 coffees several times to two different staff members. Half the coffees were not drunk..,,,,, an absolute waste of money. We went off to Shadowfax winery for lunch which was fantastic and the coffees were real!!' Thankfully the lunch made up for our coffee experience,
