we went to the cemetery walk this past weekend in Winona. what a great time we all had! it was so informative and fun. we will be back for sure next year. if you are in Winona in October, do not , do not!! miss this activity it is truly a fun afternoon!
It's a good stop to make. They change things up with different exhibits. The renovations have done amazing things for the place. You can always play the Steinway in the lobby. You can spend an afternoon looking through the collections.
This is a lovely museum in a combined new and lovingly restored building. The buggy collection is astounding and the riverboat display intriguing. They have a nice and substantial time line exhibit that is interesting. We found two inaccuracies regarding the history of corn and logging that we some what troubling.
One of the best historical societies you'll ever see. Great displays and interesting artifacts.Wonderful gifts and mementos too. Children will especially enjoy the exhibits and American Girls Dolls.
receently updated displays jam packed with info on the entire area see it first and plan your excursions around ithe info you will NOT be disappointed
It was nice to see the new expansion of the museum. Everyone was very helpful and the displays were well done. It is a museum children can enjoy too. I would like to see more displays though as I know there is a lot of artifacts store there.
I could not believe it! The whole time we were there a guy (older, betw 60-70) yammered on his cell phone THE WHOLE TIME we were there! Oh, and on his SPEAKER phone too! What a jerk.
The exhibits are interesting and the have an interactive part for kids that mine really enjoyed. Two thumbs up!
It is free to view a changing exhibit in the beautiful new wing and $5 to view the musty, old-school exhibit on Winona's history. The volunteer at the desk purveyed history cliches and was not a great ambassador.
This museum is an interesting, well-organized place to start learning about Winona. Learn about the lumber and steamboat and their place in the city's history.
