I have been there to see multiple events there. Clean and classy. They hold many types of events. Easy to get to in Worcester Ma
The building is so beautiful....Do not recommend sitting in the balcony.....very steep and no breaks in the rows,if you are in the middle you are stuck....The stage is great and all of the music we have heard has been great
Have been to several programs here. Beautifully restored building and acoustics exceptional. No bad seats although if mobility is impaired stairs to balcony will be a problem. No elevators to balcony. They also do private events such as weddings.
They hold weekly free concerts on Wednesdays. They call them Brown Bag Lunches. Yes, you take you own lunch and sit and listen to a free concert.
Great acoustics, historic setting - nice place to spend a night out. And a very dedicated and friendly director!
I've been here many times, for weddings and graduations. It's a very fancy place. It doesn't look like it on the outside, but it truly is. It's a beautiful building on the inside. They have great parking there, too.
This hall is one the acoustically perfect venues in Mass. whether going to a concert or a function, you will enjoy the ambiance and the beautifully restored hall.
Been there for several concerts including David Brubeck and the acoustics make it on of the best performance centers I have been to anywhere including some international venues. Even if you get to visit for an organ recital, the acoustics will make you realize just what gem this hall is and you will return. Avery Fisher performance center might offer more but, certainly not better acoustics. I can understand some concerns with regards to the balconies being steep and of dubious access physically challenged individuals. Even with that limitation, wait it out after the show, it gives one another chance to appreciate where you've been and what you have just heard.
Mechanics Hall is a fantastic place to see a mid-size performance. The elegance of the hall, it's convenient and hassle-free location all make it such an easy way to access great programing. It's not too small, not too large. Just right.
The architecture of 1857 surrounds you in this historic hall in downtown Worcester. The massive stage is acoustically perfect for a wedding, a graduation, a black tie affair, or simply a concert of classical music. The hall was renovated in 1977 and is handicap accessible with modern elevators and restrooms. There are several smaller rooms for corporate events or ceremonies and any food served must be brought in as the venue has no in-house catering. We have attended many events there with each visit more wondrous than the last. The staff of Mechanics Hall will arrange any type of event from 10 to 1600 people. Plenty of parking in several lots is nearby for a fee. Handicap parking is free near the rear entrance.
