First visit and we were floored by the atmosphere and lively spirit. Very different from some stodgy places we've been to in the past. Although they don't grow any grapes they sure do a very nice job with the ones they bring in. Great service, good prices and some GREAT wines. It was busy, but fun to be there and take in the high spirits.
The wine was OK, the location is beautiful, we thought having a membership would be great since we would be supporting a local winery and purchase wines at a discount, and be able to attend events for members only. When I joined there was no communication about the first time for me to pick up the wine - I had to call and let them know I wasn't receiving emails. Not a big issue at this point, nothing is perfect. I let them know their website had incorrect information for an upcoming event for the Thanksgiving weekend, which they corrected, but showed zero appreciation or acknowledgement to me. The last time I went to pick up the wine for my membership, January 2014, the person waiting on us was more interested in flirting with the guy ahead of us and didn't acknowledge us until we stood around for 20 minutes, and even after she finally made eye contact, he interrupted again, and she turned away from us to him again for another 15 minutes! She seemed annoyed that I, a member, was interrupting someone who was laboring over the purchase of a bottle of wine. There was no place to sit in the winery, and the patio where there were seats was freezing. I discontinued my membership - there are plenty of other excellent wine venues in the area to chose from.
The atmosphere was really relaxing. Loved the fact that it felt like we were at a friend's house. The wine was delicious and their jalapeno cheese was incredibly tasty. Prices are reasonable and worth every penny! I wished we lived closer so we could come more often. It will be a must visit spot next time we visit Oregon.
Stopped here with friends on a Wednesday afternoon. The setting is beautiful as is the facility. Perfect place for a wedding or an anniversary party. We did a wine flight and enjoyed some good wine while we talked with Mallory. She was very knowledgeable about all of the wines and the building. When we went outside to leave a gentleman working out back showed us around and talked about the operation and the property. Very interesting! We'll be back.
I thought we were lost driving up to the winery, but once we arrived and looked out over the mountain vistas I knew the trip was worth it. Laura was our guide for the wine tasting and I learned more about wine in that hour than I ever thought I would know. She was happy and friendly like everyone else we met while in Oregon.
Short, beautiful, drive from downtown Eugene. Ladies very helpful and friendly. View spectacular! After tasting, we enjoyed a bottle, along with their cheese & crackers on their terrace. It was a great day...
I love this charming winery! You can bring your own picninc food. Great local wine selection, relatively cheap, delicious charcuteries....amazing view!
This is a nice place to enjoy some wine sampling. Try to go on a sunny day so you can sit outside and enjoy the view. Very friendly and informative staff. Many wines to choose from. The winery dogs are quite friendly and I enjoyed their company.
Nice wines, nice choices and like that they had the option of ordering some snack plates after all the driving. Can't wait to go back.
We visited SCW late in the day on a Sunday, and boy, were they busy! Even so, the lady behind the bar was friendly and attentive as she poured wine for customers. They have the best Riesling I've ever tasted and I purchased a bottle of Rose. If you don't mind the bustle and crowd, it would be a nice place to sit and sip with friends. Also, the woman serving us slipped us a box to put all the wine bottles in that we had been accumulating in the trunk of the car. Thank you!
