We were part of a large party celebrating a wedding the previous day. We had a meal from a set menu and were not disappointed. Excellent food, I had the cream of tomato soup, chicken with wild mushroom sauce and then sticky toffee pudding which was to die for!!! Lovely setting and staff and service was great. 5 out of 5!
I'm lying down stuffed of delicious food, I ate so much you have no idea my family all loved their meal! I would really recommend this place, there is also a play area for kids and it is in a beautiful area filled with thatch roofed cottages and countryside!
Came here with my partner and parents and had an enjoyable evening. Staff were friendly and there was diners outside as well as inside, fairly booked up by the looks of it. Menu was varied, mum and dad had scampi which came as a large dinner and they both enjoyed it. The fish pie was had by my partner, whose only comment was he would have like to have tasted different fish in the pie and not just the salmon. I went for the warm chicken salad which was was lovely. The three of them had puddings which they enjoyed. The only downside is the wait for the dinner and puddings to be served, this was on the slow side.
We popped in for lunch while passing through the village to visit a local attraction and was very disappointed. Looks very nice from outside and that's why we stopped. Nicely decorated in the bar area but absolutely no atmosphere in the main restaurant, quite boring really. Staff were running around like headless chickens and it was only half full. Also they should be very careful as someone behind us complained about there meal and when the waitress went to the kitchen you could here everything she was telling the chef. We only had a couple of sandwiches and drinks we were not impressed and very expensive for what it was. Yes they apologised as my husband couldn't eat his but they still charged the full price.
Yet another superb meal at Victoria n Adrian's pub/ restaurant - over two years regular meals n never a bad one. Family had the beef n I had black pudding n bacon risotto followed by Chorizo stuffed chicken, best chicken I have ever eaten. Great food and lovely, attentive staff. Well done all...
My family and I have visited on many occasions and are always drawn back as it is local and always serves great consistent food.Staff are always very welcoming to us and children and provide a great outdoor play area for them to occupy them when the weather permits. There is also some great ales and beers on offer.Plenty of parking, great location. All round winner, but book in advance!!
Great country pub. Food, service, location all spot on. Been here a few times and will carry on doing so.
The pub has changed over the past few years and is now more of a restaurant rather than a pub. The owners have tried to move it up market, but I don't think that they have quite made it when you compare it to similar restaurants in the area.Nice atmosphere and good food at a reasonable price. Would I go back.........yes probaly I would.
We booked here for a family reunion- the staff were professional and helpful , the surroundings cater well for families with young children. The food was nicely presented and enjoyable-although we did find the wine a little overpriced. We will be returning here in the future.
The good: the pub is a nice country pub in a tiny village in a country setting. There's a good selection of beers and they are well kept. However: the place is somewhat let down by the quality of the food. My steak, ordered medium rare, was delivered overcooked, and the accompanying pepper sauce was watery and not particularly peppery. My wife's meal, a special of grilled chicken with pappardelle in a cream sauce with mushrooms, had dry overcooked chicken. The sticky toffee pudding she ordered was also dry in the centre and overcooked. The food isn't bad here by any stretch of the imagination, but it's also not brilliant, neither. It's just average.
