Boat wasn't ready on time for our reservation. Had to fix broken parts on the boat. Didn't include an anchor, so our rental time was spent constantly trying to not hit the shore. They installed a faulty propellor and nearly left us stranded. Overall, very poor experience. We love Canyon Lake, but wouldn't recommend this marina for boat rental. Time and money wasted.
We rented a pontoon boat for a family gathering of ten people. The boat was in great shape, and every one of the people we dealt with at Canyon Lake Marina was very professional and helpful.
I tried the BBQ and it was pretty good. The turkey was the best. If you are going to eat at the marina the best part is the view. If the weather was a little cooler I could spend hours out there.
I rented a pontoon for a ladies getaway in October. The personnel were professional and explained how to operate the boat and gave us a map. The store sold just about anything you may need for your excursion that you might have forgotten. The scenery on the lake was beautiful and included many lovely homes and the magnificent dam. The pontoon was clean and comfortable. I would definitely rent from them again.
Ok, so I booked a ski boat with this place without reading reviews on here. As we are driving there I pull up tripadvisor and see the bad reviews. I was very worried. We got there though and had the best experience! From the guy at the register to the guys helping us on the boat it was first class, easy breezy and we'll do it again soon my kids had such a blast tubing. We showed up at 9:15am on a Sunday and our boat was scheduled from 10-12. Perfect! Lake was pretty empty, I love no crowds! Thank you!
My husband and I wanted to rent a boat to check out Canyon Lake. We did this during the week to avoid the crowds. The boat (a Boston Whaler) we chose was almost new. The marina had bought their rental boats within the year. They had it all cleaned up for us when we arrived. There was someone there to show us the operations and features of the boat. They provided us with a map of the lake so we wouldn't get lost. I was very impressed with the marina and the staff. Clean restrooms, well stocked gift store, and plenty of boats of all types to rent as well as some wave runners. A great experience.
Our group of friends have rented a speed boat from the Marina a few times now and each time has been great fun. We have also rented boats in Austin before, but we prefer Canyon Lake due to the higher water levels and it's less crowded. They just purchased new boats in the past few months, so now is the perfect time to take advantage of the fresh equipment. A few words of warning (or preparation really) - #1) if you plan to get out and swim, then you need to request an anchor before you leave because it does not automatically come with the boat and it sucks to have to go back and pick one up #2) if you are going with friends, they will only split the payment in half so make sure you bring cash or can pay your friends back #3) if you want to listen to your own music, bring your own auxiliary cord to plug into the radio. The restaurant is also pretty good after a long day on the lake, especially their margaritas. We will return!
A very nice place to visit with a lot of activities to enjoy. Since it was off season when we visited, the restaurant had limited hours,so I was a little disappointed that we did not get to eat there.
We visited this place in memorial day weekend. It was good experience. Price for rental boat is really reasonable. Though we had thought time finding the place. Staff was pretty friendly too.
This is one of the only boat ramps still open due to low lake levels. They have slips for rent overnight...but the night we were there, all slips were full. So they allowed us to use the boat ramp and called across the lake to another place with slips and told them we were on the way! Not much has changed since I first used this boat ramp or slips, especially the kind people!
