The tour is free, but although walk-ins are allowed for the tour, I recommend you register online to ensure you get the tour time you want. You need to be a minimum of 21 with a current I.D. The tour lasts about 45 minutes and you finish with a tasting of the whiskey. Our guide was funny and she guided us through the tasting making sure we tasted the various flavors within the whiskey.
I'm not a huge whiskey fan, but I found this to be a fun and unique thing to do in Denver. It's proximity to Denver makes it a great option for visitors to the area and the tour is well worth the hour if you have any interest in learning about how whiskey is made and how Stranahan's is different. Would be fun for a big group, but it's not meant to be rowdy, more respectful to the process.
I've been on a few whiskey tours in my time but this one is the best. Free and with a complimentary whiskey at the end. Very unpretenious tour with a knowledgable guide. One of the few places to buy the whiskey.Highly recommended!
We stopped in on a whim and got a great tour from Rebecca, an educational tasting, and then sat in the tasting room that has miraculous bartenders whipping up wonderful concoctions for you to try. This was a great experience and we will go again. By the way, Stanahan's is REALLY good!
OK, I've never heard of Stranahan Whiskey, but decided to go on the tour with some family members. It was a blast. We went on a guided tour and then was able to taste a few whiskies. It was actually quite decent. I'm not a whiskey connoisseur, however. This is a free tour and well worth the hour or so it takes to go through the tour and the tasting. We didn't buy a bottle of the Whiskey, but next time I'm in Denver, I will buy one. Brewed and distributed in Colorado.
This place is a gem in the Denver area. It maybe a small distillery, but it must be popular as there were people waiting outside the evening I visited for a release of a special whiskey the next morning(mind you it was in December and cold as well) Very friendly and knowledgeable staff which made the tour interesting to say the least. If you are in the area, I would recommend the free tour, which ends in a free whiskey tasting!
I flew from Washington to Colorado for the 16th batch of snowflake. It is so yummy I am addicted! I have participated in the last 2 limited releases this was my third I'll come for everyone if I can
Great, informational tour. Learned a lot about how the product is made. Even got to try a sample! If you sign up online you can even be put in a lottery to help bottle! Make sure to make reservations for the tour! Must do in the area!
What a fun tour! I never really knew much about whiskey until visiting Stranahan's. It has really become a local fave in the bars! Not only did we get to tour basically the whole building, but also got to test and taste the whiskey, both cold and room temperature to see the different taste. And there is a bar where you can get drinks! Friendly staff and good educational tour!
We had a great experience visiting Stranahan's. Our tour guide was really knowledgeable and funny throughout the tour and kept it interesting. We got to walk all through the production and storage areas and even learn about how they incorporate volunteer efforts in their packaging process. The history of Stranahan's was really cool to learn about, and the free tasting of really good whiskey made it all the more wonderful!
