Played here in March 2013, after not having been in several years (bit of a haul for me), and have to rank this as my favorite course in DFW. The holes are beautiful and challenging, settling in at 6529 from the blues. Not quite "Amen Corner", but holes 13, 14, and 15 (4-3-4) will dare you to come out with only 11 shots. Hole 13 takes you uphill, leaving you a blind shot downhill into the green. Hole 14 is appropriately named "Ambush" with a 212, slight uphill (good luck if you have the wind in your face) Safe play is to go around the water on 15, but we all know that weekend-golfers know they can make it, even if that means landing in the frontside bunker. $75-$80 on the weekend, but you'll feel you got your money's worth.
Texas Star Golf Course and Conference Center is an amazing place! The golf course is consistently one of the top rated courses in the state. Natural beauty abounds! The conference center can accomodate just about any type of event you envision. Weddings, receptions, celebrations, company events can all be planned and expertly executed by Ms. Magen Morton. Raven's Grille restaurant serves wonderful food with large portions priced very reasonably. (Many items can be ordered in smaller portions at smaller prices!) Don't wait ~ visit soon! Time your visit so you can enjoy Happy Hour on the patio overlooking the 18th green.
This might be off your beaten path but well worth the drive. Up for a challenging course? Try the Double Barrel. The menu is well rounded and an incredible value.
The Texas Star golf course is a beautifully maintained course. The clubhouse includes a restaurant and bar.
This is the best public course in Texas is not all of America. Not your typical cow pasture Texas Golf Course. Try Ravens Grille. It's outstanding.
This course was designed by top notch course designer Keith Foster. Very playable with large greens and some very tough holes. Some greens slant away from a shot, so it is easy to overshoot the green. This is the case on number twelve which is rated the toughest hole on the course. I played there in late March and the mega landfill that is close to about five holes on the course had a strong odor. As a city resident, I have been notified that after father's day 2014 all 18 bent grass greens are going to be replaced with bermuda grass. They expect the course to be closed until approximately October.
Euless would like you to think this is Augusta National. It is a nice course, but is no way near worth what they charge to play there. Too many other courses in the area just as nice and several dollars cheaper.
The Texas Star Golf Course is one of the best in the Metroplex. Close to DFW Airport in Euless, TX. The course offers unique routing for a Texas layout. Tree lined fairways and several elevation changes create an interesting test of your golf skills. Course condition was excellent and bent grass greens are another rarity for this part of Texas. Clubhouse food at the Raven's Grille is also a treat. Dare you to eat huge chicken fried steak.
Played here on a Monday. Practice facility is compact but works for a quick warm up.Layout offers a challenge from any tee. Greens were fast, but looked good.Depending on how much you like to spend per round, this is a course you maybe play once or twice a year.
This course will be closed mid June 2014 until October for some upgrading. This course is very well maintained for a public course. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are facilities for group gatherings, golf outings, etc. The restaurant located on site does a good business with non golfers and offers a varied menu. The food is average, servings adequate for most people. The staff will drop you off at your car after the round and clean your clubs in the process.Certainly one of the very best public courses in the area. Fees are reasonable and competitive.
