When you are in Carvoiero you have to walk up the hill past the church, onto the boardwalk and end up at Algar Seco you will be rewarded with wonderful views and plenty of exercise
This amazing natural beauty was only made accesible by man. Nature did all the rest. Always go there when in Carvoeiro. Nice for a swim and a stroll. Looking at the daredevils who dive from the cliffs. Nothing for us though, just looking them is enough...Never tried the bar-restaurant, to much smokers and there are so much good restaurants in Carvoeiro. It is more an open air bar than a restaurant.
We always go to Algor Seco to have lunch when in Carvoeiro. Such a lovely spot, overlooking the sea with uninterrupted views. Also a lovely new boardwalk cliff top walk has been built, so go for a nice ong walk, and then a leisurely lunch at Algor Seco!
It's worth a walk along the new boardwalk from Carvoeiro to see the rocks and blowholes made by the sea. Walk though the short cliff tunnel for an amazing sea view. The other footway is a great visit at high tide when the sea swirls, crashes and hisses in a whirlpool of water. The bar/restaurant is uniquely placed among the rocks, but as the sign says "No we don't have wi-fi. Talk to each other"!
This is an absolute must see if you're in or near carvoeiro. The rock formation is beautiful and they have built a wooden bridge across the cliff edge so you can admire the who'll area really well. There's also a cafe/bar in the middle if you fancy a drink after checking our smugglers cove :)
Interesting natural rock pool, with beautiful sea view. The small bar and grill restaurant is good possibility for drinking a coffee, beer, and for light snack and fish lunch.
Absolutely beautiful place, quiet and classy. Marion, Caterina, Edite, Rosario, and Duarte, the administrative group are so wonderful. The gardeners, and housekeeping folks are so excellent and caring. We were here for quite a period of time and are missing it very much now that we are home. Hope to return next year. Would not stay any whew else.
Beautiful views at the rocks of this interesting part of this coast. This place is certainly worthwhile to visit.
At Algar Seco you have wonderful views to the ocean. The friendly staff is quick and conscientious. The food comes in big portions (after a Lunch you don´t need a big evening meal) and tastes very nice.
Follow the signs for Algar Seco from Rua do Farol. park aloong the cliffside. Spectacular rocky formations, with gorgeous views across the ocean. Dont forget your camera. If you take the steps down, there is a lovely snack bar (closed in winter), where you can have fresh orange juice or spicey grilled prawns, or just a salad. Well worth the visit!
