Gorgeous setting, cute building, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. We have visited here often and always come back. Staff is cool, great music but above all, good wines. 45 White is my favorite.
This was the last winery we visited to taste their wines. I found I liked more of their wines than I did at any of the other wineries we had visited. The host for wine tasting was very knowledgeable and made great suggestions.Be sure to have a good GPS guide to find this place. Signs to the winery were hard to find. Right off 204 about 1/4 mile.
We met Channing and she invited us to go cross country skiing. We somehow didn't go with the group, but still had a grand time skiing to Blustone Winery and back. The staff are great!!! Very helpful and very knowledgeable about wines. The wood interior is perfect on a cold winter day and the wines are nice, especially the unwooded chardonnay. I was especially impressed with the ciders, which I don't generally like. But the combination of two of them turned out very tasty! Highly recommend it.
If you're touring the wineries in the Leelanau Peninsula, make sure you stop by 45 North! My husband and I have toured this wine area three times now, and each time 45 North has been my favorite. The wines are great, and the service is wonderful. Very friendly and laid-back atmosphere. We prefer doing the winery tour in the off-season (fall or spring) to avoid large crowds and to enjoy more personal service.
We just happened upon the weekly "Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Guided Tour" for x-country skiers and/or snowshoers. Channing led us on an amazing 2-mile trail through the vineyards, explaining about the crops and what they were currently planning and plans for the future. The trail led us to bluestone Winery, where we had a wonderful tasting (beautiful views, good wines, friendly staff!), before heading back to 45 North for another tasting.Trails are available to the public, even when the wineries are not open. Beautiful scenery! Friendly and knowledgable staff! Really good wines!! (We'll be back!)
We really liked this property. The place seems very well maintained. Once inside, we found it to be one of the largest indoor areas on our tour. There is even an upstairs area. The interior has gorgeous exposed beams, a cool bar with actual saddles as seats, and a stone fireplace. We enjoyed our visit.
This was our 3rd visit and although our experience wasn't bad it wasn't as pleasant as our 2 previous visits. The wine samples were very small compared to other wineries.
OK, I like the small of wood and leather. This was my favorite tasting room. The wines were pleasant and affordable. We sat indoor because it was so nice. The outside patio is really pleasant too. Friendly staff with young children who were doing their best to contribute in a way that showed the family nature of the business. The tastings were 5 for $5.
Been here twice these past few months....had to come back after I finished off the bottle of Peach Cremant wine that I purchased the first time! It's been busy both times, but it has a really cool interior, nice grounds (though it was raining this past weekend), and just a fun place to taste. Try the peach wine....it is just plain delicious!
Great wine--especially the riesling, chardonnay and rose. They have a scenic outdoor bar with wooden chairs shaped like the state of Michigan.
