After two days of tasting wines in more than 16 wineries in the Barossa , we finally found what we were looking for , unique character , bold , great nose , compex shiraz we found in the Factor and the RunRigThe staff at the cellar door are very welcoming and very knowledgeable. The packaging is also very impressive and top class. Must visit if you are in the Barossa
This is the Barossa we wanted to see, a relatively small winery with such friendly cellar door staff keen to assist and provide us with as much information as we required. We rang the day before to ensure 11 of us could visit at the one time and booked a time. The staff welcomed us and took us through the fabulous Torbrek wines. We enjoyed wine tasting on the front lawn as it was a beautiful day. Well done and thanks to Torbrek Wines.
It doesn't have the grandeur and history of many of the nearby wineries and chateaus but although small by comparison, it is more than offset by the quality of the wines. For a small ($5) tasting charge, you actually get to try an amazing range of quality (and expensive) wines. Wonderful wines and top service.
Brilliant experience - lovely staff and fantastic wine. Not to be missed in your winery visits for the Barossa.
If you're looking for quality wine at a reasonable price. If you want to talk to friendly and knowledgeable staff who love wine and the Barossa. If you want the chance to even possibly taste a 100 point wine ("Run Rig") or perhaps even (if you are really really lucky) the brilliant "Lard" then the Torbreck Cellardoor is a must when you visit Tanunda in the Barossa Valley.
The tasting room is in a delightful heritage cottage, which could get a bit crowded at the weekend, but we were there midweek so it was fine. They have an exciting range of wines available for tasting - about 20 in total - with quite a selection of shiraz up to their top flight. Worth a visit for experiencing the the breadth of styles from Barossa shiraz.
When in Rome..... Gorgeous little cellar door, with some wonderful products. Walked away with The Laird, plus some others. Fabulous. We're on the mailing list !
The tasting is very generous, with many fine (i.e. expensive) bottles being opened. Exceptional wine and very knowledgeable staff.
My Favourite vineyard on my trip, very friendly staff who were down to earth and lovely. Add to that come great wine and I look forward to drinking my bottles over the next few years!
Compact but with great tastings and atmosphere. Wines are of very good quality though we found it hard to not like any of them. All in all a great visit with out the trappings of a BIG establishment.
