  Orland Square Mall in Orland Park, which opened in 1976, is an enclosed shopping center and the most upscale and largest mall in Chicago's south and southwest suburbs. Located on La Grange Road in the Southland's busiest hub, it covers an area of over 1.2 million square feet and contains over 150 stores. Anchored by Macy's, Sears, Carson Pirie Scott and JCPenney, Orland Square has been a hub for commercial activity and development, driving dramatic growth in the surrounding area for the past 20 years. It serves as a major destination for residents in the communities of Frankfort, Mokena, New Lenox, Orland Park, Homer Glen, Oak Forest, Orland Hills and Tinley Park. It has ample parking and plenty of comfortable areas for shoppers to relax or take a lunch break. Orland Square underwent a major renovation in 1995, then had another complete renovation to upgrade restrooms and expand its food court between 2011 and 2013. Two major restaurant chains were added in 2012, The Cheesecake Factory and Dave & Busters. There is something to satisfy everyone's appetite. Other popular restaurants are Panda Express, Baskin Robbins, Cinnebon, Fannie May, Godiva Chocolatier, Taco Bell, Subway, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Sbarro, Mrs. Fields Cookies, ChikWich at Market Fresh Grill and Auntie Anne's Pretzels. The list of retail stores also includes Lane Bryant, Disney Store, Apple, Vera Bradley, Jos. A. Bank, Akira, Eddie Bauer, Kay Jewelers, Coach, Nine West, Abercrombie & Fitch, Loft Limited. J. Crew, Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma, Banana Republic, Gap, Victoria's Secret, Forever 21 and Sephora. As a native of Blue Island, I was amazed to observe all of the busy activity going on in the Orland Square area, all along La Grange Road north of I-80.

  This mall was ok but it seemed an inordinate number of stores are geared toward teens and early 20's. Skin tight dresses. Mini skirts. No Talbots or Ann Taylor. They do have an Apple Store, a Coach store, but not a lot of high end stores. The only restaurant is a Cheesecake Factory. Only other choice is the food court. That's an indication of a sub par mall. There is, however, a Starbucks. And that's always a big plus. We had 2 hours to kill on a Friday afternoon and could not make it the full 2 hours. And I love to shop.

  My wife decided she wanted to go here. I dropped my wife and kids off and they spend the next three hours shopping for clothes. My wife found a dress for an upcoming wedding and my son found some clothes for his graduation. The mall had quite a bit of stores and the parking lot was full. I had to park quite a ways away. We will be stopping here again when we are visiting relatives

  Not a bad mall! Has most of the more popular stores. Probably the best mall in the southern suburbs without travelling to oak brook.

  This mall has significantly changed over the past 3-4 years. It has unfortunately started to go the way of Ford City and the now-demolished Evergreen Plaza before it. Orland Mall used to be an elegant place to shop with high-end stores, a pleasant shopping experience and a family-friendly place. It's gotten much rougher of late. A friend's family was threatened with bodily harm in the parking lot. There was a shooting not all that long ago.Shoplifting has become rampant (reading the weekly police reports) and the security has become more visible. I've taken care to avoid the race issue as I am also a minority. It's a cultural issue and it strongly detracts from the shopping experience. Since many southside malls have enacted chaperone rules for minors, the problem in Orland has become more pronounced since it has no such rules.

  I enjoy Orland Square very much. Have been going here since it opened in 1976. It gets better and better with store choices. They have a very nice Carson's & Macy's as anchors. It's home to the closest Apple Store for us living in Indiana. The mall is kept up very well and its a pleasure to shop here. Traffic in the area can get really bad but we time our visits so it works well. They also have a Cheesecake Factory Restaurant here which is a nice treat. The mall has a very nice assortment of stores, something for everyone.
