Haven't been since October, but just bought season tickets which start in a few weeks. Every seat is a great one, and you can see N.Y. shows for a fraction of the price. The variety is wonderful also. Plus the week day shows for kids is a bonus.
They get some amazing artists at this location, now with multiple state of the art venuessuch as ( Peforming Arts Center (Kansas City MO), they have not had as many nationally acclaimed artist as they have had in years gone by. But if you have the opportunity to see a performance in this space, you will enjoy being there.
I like the art but it is a bit empty and wish there was more to look at. The little cafe downstairs is great to eat at afterwards, though. Love the food!
My family and I typically attend 3 - 4 events each year at the Johnson County Community College Carlsen Center. It's a beautiful, nicely-attired, on-campus auditorium in Overland Park, KS. The Carlsen Center provides an intimate, up-close experience and there are no bad seats in the house. The usher staff are pleasant and quick to accomodate. Ticket prices are reasonable and the productions are top-notch.
We have seen everything from a magic act to various musical performers and this is our favorite venue in the KC area. It is located on the Johnson County Community College campus and there is usually close parking but always parking is available somewhere. Most every seat is good, and in contrast to the Kaufmann Center, there aren't any dangerous seats in the house. Prices up to how have been pretty reasonable. This is our first choice of venues in Kansas City for fine arts. They consistently amaze with the incredible variety of different kinds of performers that they book here. Just a very nice facility all around.
JCCC is definitely the best venue in Kansas City! The variety of entertainment offered is exceptional. We've been season ticket subscribers for years and will continue to do so. Carlson Center offers wonderful acoustics and ease of access for all levels of ambulation. Free, plentiful parking is a real plus (compare to the fee at Kauffman Center).
A fantastic entertainment venue. They have had entertainment from Natalie Cole, to Crystal Gayle and Ricky Skaggs. They have various orchestras visiting and children's entertainment. Look at the upcoming schedule to find what interests you. There's usually something.
Excellent venue. All the seats seem to have a great view and plenty of parking
This junior college has great teachers and nice classroom size. Facilities are tremendous.
This is a nice venue to catch a concert or show, however there is very little to no advertising for the events unless you are already on JCCC campus and by campus I mean in the buildings. One major flaw of many at JCCC is the ever present lack of advertising for any events going on at the campus to the general public.
