I liked the variety of rivers(i.e ponds) at the bottom of the cave. Did not like having to walk up and down to get there, minor annoyance
It's pretty. There are three little sinkholes. They are connected by steps. There are lots of steps. Ticket costs are $100 RD to enter then you lay $25 RD to use the boat to cross the water.Total trip takes about thirty minutes to explore.
I got there late pm so didn't have time to do the full tour but was interesting anyway. Sellers pounce on you when you exit so had to be very, very firm with declining to buy from them.
Didn't know it was on the tour we had booked, it was quite interesting. I enjoyed the underground pools and the various rock formations.
Hello every one!I'm Dominican and I recommends this place to visit if you come to Dominican Republic. Something you should know is that don't be limited just to see the caves, out if the caves you can take a walk and take a look from the top of one of the cave.it's nice.
Do not let the "tour guide" follow you. You can read or you can listen from the other tour guides. Enjoy the view, cable boats, and bring mosquito repellent.
Pretty cool set of 4 cave lakes in eastern Santo Domingo. Worth the small entrance fee. Lots of steps going down (which of course you have to come back up when you're done). First lake comes right away, 2nd lake has a pull across ferry (pay the boatman), short walk to 3rd lake. 4th lake many people miss.....it's called the Lady's Lake, a meter deep and off to the right as you return back up. All in all, worth the 45 minutes to do.....and it's close to the Faro a Colon.
If you visited cenotes in Mexico, I would advise to skip. Lots of tourist groups moving though, you cannot swim in them. They are pretty and definitely picture worthy otherwise.
its long I have been there but it was a visit to remember.the caves full with 'stalagmiten', I even bought 1 and have it till today. there is a river going through the caves with ice cold water, a small boat brings you to the 'other' side of the cave
Beautiful to see. Be sure to take the "boat" across to the outdoor lake. Many people don't apparently, but it was spectacular to look at. It's very humid, so keep that in mind for both what to wear and your camera. Ignore the vendors up top. Just keep walking and say "no gracias." I wanted to buy one small shell for my dad as a souvenir. The vendor pretended like he didn't speak good english, and when I insisted I only wanted one shell (they usually try to get you to buy two or three of something), he went to a higher price for the one shell than he started with.
