The Cathedral was extraordinary in the Statues and Stained Glass,The inside of the Cathedral is huge.
Good place to visit if your In Worcester, looks lovely from the inside and some interesting history.
One of the country's finest examples of post Norman cathedral architecture. Look for the wonderful roodscreen carvings and currently there is information about the 800 year celebrations of the Magna Carta
One of the most impressive cathedrals in England and you don't have to pay to see it.John lackland, king of England and prince Arthur, brother of Henry VIII are buried here.
After Living In Worcestershire for the past 30 Years I finally got round to visiting Worcester Cathedral with my Son and we were both so impressed with the Beautiful Architecture and Historic Adornments.I had long wanted to see King Johns Tomb and was very impressed with that and the other tombs.I will visit again later this year and recommend a visit to both local people and travellers alike.
We loved this Cathedral. It has a lovely feel about it, interesting history and it's simply stunning. Everything about it is spectacular; the beautiful stained glass windows, the pillars, the organ and the carvings....it's an impressive place to visit and it's free!I would definitely visit again if I was passing this way. It is breathtakingly beautiful.
We decided to spend time exploring this beautiful Cathedral. Just spending a few minutes staring up at the incredible and ornate ceiling supported by immense stone pillars it is absolutely breath-taking. Built in the eleventh century with the most beautiful carvings and shaped stonework, it almost defies belief that a structure as wonderful as this could have been built completely by hand with such amazing architecture and thought. Well worth a visit if you are in Worcester.
I had a really interesting visit to Worcester Cathedral recently - the volunteer guides were very helpful.
Magnificent cathedral overlooking the River Severn. Lots of information about the Magna Carts as celebrating 800 years of its existence! We had the pleasure of listening to the Worcestershire University Choir, which sounded beautiful. I love the Cloisters and the cafe was very reasonable and served gluten free cakes. Would definitely recommend a visit.
This is a wonderful building, it's great to walk around & look into history. The staff are friendly & the gift shop has some gems. Well worth a visit & it's free too!
