Decided to stop in on a Monday afternoon and we were the only people there. The place is beautiful as mentioned and the views from the winery are really incredible. Yet, what really made the visit was the owner Jared, who went above and beyond in his hospitality by taking us on a tour of the facilities, including a portion of his home there. Really couldn't have asked for more. Spent 2 hours there and felt welcomed every moment there. This would not have been possible on a busy day but he definitely didn't have to be as wonderful and attentive as he was. If yiu are planning an event, whether corporate or a wedding, I would highly recommend this place if our experience was indicative of what will be provided. If you're in the Galena area, stop by for a tasting.
Had a great time at this winery. We were 2 couples and went around 2 pm on a Saturday. We came in on the top level of the place, were able to get a seat and sample some great wines. The owner was very nice, informative and entertaining. We bought a few bottles and getting ready to leave when he told us there was another level downstairs. He took us down and showed us around the beautiful place. There were a few other groups there enjoying wine and pizza so we decided to stay and enjoy some pizza and wine as well. The service was excellent! We ordered 2 pizzas and sat around on a comfy couch facing the gorgeous fireplace. Overall excellent experience! I recommend going when it is not as crowded but it is definitely worth the visit. Beautiful place inside and out! Delicious wine!
We came to this winery because it was highly recommended by a local. She was right that we should come to visit. The scenery are absolutely breath taking. The wine maker is friendly and knowledgeable. It is $6 to taste all their wine selections (around 10 wines). Enjoy sipping wine while enjoying the views!
We have visited this winery before. Wines are okay, but it was better when there were fewer people. On the last visit, it was crazy busy, so I think that's why we didn't love it. Did have fun petting the winery dogs! If you go, try going during the week and not on a busy weekend day.
I agree with a previous review, the wines are on the sweet side but myself I like that. They do have dry wine and the sweet vary in degree a great deal. It was a pleasant surprise we have been through the area many times and this is the first time we stopped so glad we did. Everyone was welcoming and knowledgeable. Wish we could have had a tour, we didn't have time to stay after our tasting.
The scenery here is beautiful. There is a small fee for wine tasting but you get to try all of his wines. They have won many medals and the wines are very good. I lean toward a cabernet my friend leans toward a Riesling but we both loved all the wines and had a hard time choosing which ones to take back home. You cannot purchase any of these wines in a store or restaurant. Only can be purchased at the winery.Nice seating areas to enjoy your wine. I have to go back to this winery!
Felicia,Jarold, and Kyle are awesome! They make you laugh and feel like part of the family! The view of the rolling hills and fall colors are breathtaking! You can view the vineyards from the wrap around balcony. The downstairs level has a warm log cabin feel!
Totally disappointed with the rudeness this year; last year we enjoyed this stop off on our way to Galena; this year nothing. Just a "oh, hello". Nothing more.
My husband and I have become pretty avid wine drinkers and love tastings. We had been to Galena earlier in the year on a family trip, but noticed signs for this winery driving home. We had our daughter with us, so decided we'd come back later in the year for our anniversary. So glad we did! The winery is small and cozy. The owner, Jared, has you taste EACH WINE and tells you background on them as you sample. All were good. Honestly, each wine was good! Hard to make a decision which to buy, but we walked out with 3 bottles of delicious wine that we can't wait to open and enjoy at home. Beautiful, cozy tasting room, great host in Jared (met Kyle and Felicia as well and they were also so pleasant), and delicious wine-you can't go wrong! I strongly recommend trying this little out of the way gem next time you are in the area!
My husband and I did the winery tour and stopped here last. I'm glad we did! We loved the home and view. The owners actually live there! They were friendly and accommodating. Loved the stories and personal attention.
