Mist was a great find in Isla Verde. We went there around 9:30 and got a seat at the gorgeous bar w/a great view of the beach/shoreline. The bartender was very nice even though were were far from properly dressed (at 10ish the bouncers come out and the atmosphere switches from bar to upscale lounge; proper dress required). We had a few passion fruit mojitos which were to die for and some bar snacks. The bartender treated us so well even after it was obvious it was more of the club scene than when we first arrived. There was no pressure to move from the bar even though it got crowded as the night went on. I found this to be a very nice bar with great service and much better place than the local street bars along the beach or casino spots.
Great food and service went here to grab a lunch by the pool, water was great as same as the food. A little pricey but you'll enjoy it :-)
My husband had first gone to Mist, on the roof of the Water Beach Club, for drinks on a Thursday night. It was early and there were only a couple of other people there. The DJ music was so incredibly loud that we couldn't hear each other to talk on the bar side. We went back on a Wednesday night and was pleasantly surprised that we weren't being blasted with canned music. It was a really nice and relaxing atmosphere with fantastic views. Our bartender/waiter was Danilo - who provided us with first class service. We grabbed a private table with a wonderful view, and had some of their appetizers - tandori chicken with fresh limes; beef sliders with bacon jam - melt in your mouth and grilled to perfection; and their braised rib flatbread. This was a wonderful find and we'll be back on our next trip. Danilo - thank you for the recommendation to visit Santurce and eat at Jose Enrique's - it was fantastic and what a fun street party1
In one word: YES!!We cannot give Chef Raul Correa enough accolades for his "genius" in elevating centuries old Puerto Rican ingredients to modern day Haute Cuisine. Chef Raul is one of the main reasons to stay at the San Juan Water and Beach Club. The food at the Mist Lounge is just out of this world. There's been a lot of press about the Chef and now you may enjoy his culinary creations on TWO exciting floors. Chef will tantalize all your senses with his creative cuisine Mist is a rooftop lounge/restaurant serving the best (and most-delicious) cocktails, wines, beers, and other beverages. Their small plates are a play, again with local ingredients, of sensual and savory tastes. I would recommend EVERYTHING (including the Black Pearl cocktail) but you have to try the Pork Belly, Braised Short Ribs, and the Flat Bread Pizza of Prosciutto, Goat Cheese, and Fig. Towards the end of the week, they have music, DJs spinning, and hot parties with the freshest of ocean breezes cascading through the open-air rooftop. Mist sets the stage for an amazing experience that plays on all the senses. You have to try my favorites. The restaurant staff is also talented. If you're lucky, Pastry Chef Luis will tantalize your palette with desserts you just won't find anywhere else. Let them know that H. Luiz sent you! Jacqueline and Luis (Restaurant Servers) are warm and cheerful- look for them during breakfast hours. Edgardo, are evening server knows more about "the Art of Food" better than most chefs I personally know - such passion! Sous Chef Jose (Chino) is extraordinary and Pastry Chef Luis is someone you're going to want to take home with you! So YES, Mist REALLY IS the Hottest Lounge in Isla Verde, San Juan PR!! :)
I took a friend to happy hour of the rooftop of the Water Beach Club. This is a gorgeous place, and before moving to Puerto Rico, my husband and I had stayed at this hotel. The service was great, prices were expensive which I usually don't mind. I do, however, mind the poor quality of the food. ended up with some appetizers, and one in particular, the beef sliders, had to be returned as it was dry and dust, none of the food deserved more than a grade of C. Staff was great. Go there for the view but eat somewhere else. If this is the new standard then I will not be trying Zest.
Stayed at the Water & Beach Club and had cocktails every night at Mist. Adrianna makes a good martini and made a couple of excellent dining recommendations. The views are to die for and should not be missed if you are in Isla Verde.
We went here for an appetizer and a drink and we enjoyed ourselves. We left right before the DJ started which isn't really our thing anyways so it was fine but the overall atmosphere of the place was great. Yes food was a little expensive but not anymore than every other place around there. I highly recommended just to at least experience it.
Yes, Mist looks the part - a chic open-air rooftop bar which overlooks the city and beach. You'd think you're in Miami. However, the drinks are rather expensive and I would not consider this a destination spot for tapas unless you're staying at the hotel and you don't want to go out for the night. We ordered a bottle of wine which took about 15 minutes to get (once the staff figured out if they had it or not). The tapas items were ok but nothing special. I get the impression that this is more of a club destination on Fri and Sat and a different atmosphere than earlier in the week ( when it's more of a tapas lounge ).
Pricey, but drinks and service are excellent. Can't beat the ambiance of this place. Top of our hotel, cool blue lighting at night, poolside service on roof. Just bring your wallet.
Definitely a must if staying on Isla Verdes. Ask for Danilo and order one of his Coco Rita's. He is super friendly and makes a great drink! Beautiful views and a cool atmosphere
