The Carolina Theatre is a top notch small event theatre. It has not only the very top entertainers in the world, it also has a small cinema which offers all types of films, old and new. One can sip on a lovely wine while watching a movie. How fun! A beautiful place in the theatre, too. Of the gilded age! A must see!
Fancy, elegant appeal; though staff not always very helpful. The concessions sometimes shut down long before the movie has finished.
This beautiful old building has been recently restored. It has a nice auditorium and several movie theaters. It offers wine and beer by the glass -very reasonably priced. The staff is very nice and friendly. Warm and congenial atmosphere. The auditorium has good acoustics. Parking just across the way. We had a very nice evening.
I went for a stand-up comedy show. The venue is great. We were in the balcony and had no complaints about the view. The staff at the concessions were super-friendly. Alcohol prices are a little high, but about what you'd expect. Good selection of beers/wine. I love the historic look and feel of the place.
Saw "The Great Divorce" in October. Thankful for those who preserve this classic theater with the classic look and "in the middle of the action" feel. The acoustics were amazing. We had great seats near the front. The chairs were not comfortable but once the show began, I forgot about them!
The employees and volunteers are genuinely generous in sharing their obvious appreciation for this restored showpiece. The restoration has accomplished satisfying the needs of a new generation of patrons, yet they have masterfully retained the ambiance of a time past when the venue itself was as important as the entertainment offeringWe're not so used life in the Artic, but if one were to be going to a Gordon Lightfoot concert to hear music, primarily set in upper Canada with a nautical slant, then this was a night in paradise. The setting in the Carolina Theater is quaint, the band was professionally tuned in to Mr. Lightfoot, but not overwhelming and with Mr. Lightfoot may have well been in a rustic old hall regaling the fishing fleet and wives, just before catching the outgoing tide to the unknowns of the frozen north Atlantic.
I'm a huge fan of the Carolina Theatre. Always have been. I used to support them with donations, but there came a time when it felt like they were only interested in large donations. I still love and support the events, but until they appreciate smaller donations, I'll donate to area theaters that are genuinely grateful for every penny.
Saw KWS at the Carolina Theater - first time ever at this venue. Really enjoyed it. Small and intimate. Staff very pleasant - parking in deck across the street - recommended highly.
This theater is so cozy, you can't help but feel you've got some of the best seats in the house, no matter where you sit. Very clean. Old, historical nostalgia all around. If there's a performance here you want to see, you must go!
Went to the Carolina Theater in November, to see the amazing Mary Chapin Carpenter! Theater was easy to get around, and was a good size. We sat up on the top balcony, dead center, and it was an amazing view! Great acoustics as well. The balcony was also great for quick restroom access and refreshments. Can't wait to see more music there!!!!
