Nice little streets with lots of restuarants and bars. Easily accessible by the subway from the city centre.
Brilliant bars with lots of good resturants and pubs. Would highly recommend for couples or friends meeting up.
Love visiting the west end, nice parks and loads of great shops and eating places. Has a really good vibe especially Byres Rd area
I was brought up in the West End but have lived in East Renfrewshire for 25 years having moved there for employment. As both my sons went to Glasgow University I have been spending a lot more time over there. It is a vibrant, colourful and stimulating place to be with excellent shopping, bars restaurants, coffee shops, parks, the University and Museum & Art Gallery. I love the buzz and seriously considering retiring back to the west End!
Glasgow is a great place for a weekend away, particularly during Celtic Connections. Vibrant, friendly and with great restaurants too.
Can't beat walking around the West End. University, Byres Road, through Kelvingrove...all you need to hope for is the rain to stay away. Highly recommend stopping for tea in one of the many cafés on Byres Road, and at least a short visit to Kelvingrove. Definitely a highlight.
The BFM spent a gods few hours walking around the west end, on a crisp and sunny Sunday.Firstly its a challenging excercise and really gives one a good workout. This is because there is so much to see and lots of ups and downs. This is the University of Glasgow home and a student area, whilst also being an exclusive (in parts) residential enclave, as well as a great space for locals and visitors to enjoy the nature and greenery of the park. The park is well kept and clean. The architecture and buildings both old and new are well worth a stand alone visit. Tie this in with some galleries, maybe a drink in one of the local establishments and some fine food and one could quite easily spend a whole day in the west!!!
A magical area in a magical city. The bars and restaurants in the vicinity are plentiful, with loads of choices.
I used to live in the west end of Glasgow. It is a great place to be with lots going on. Plenty of interesting independent shops, cafes and bars.
Wherever we had drinks or food or just a snack every establishment we visited made us so welcome the west end(Byres Road) offers such a great selection of bars and restaurants for all price wise 90% are fair but a few make your eyes water !!! but then it's your choice all in all a great place for a night out.
