Tubbing at Soldier Hollow was very fun!! We were hesitate due to other reviews. However, we had a great time! It is great that they pull you up the hill. This is the best thing ever! The tubes were nice, the staff was helpful, and the hills were great! We went on a date and still had a great time as adults. The hill is not too steep but big enough to be fun. They have music and you get to get relax as you are pulled up. The lodge is not very nice and was very stinky but we didn't have to spend much time in it. Two hours was perfect for the tubbing and we got to go down the mountain ten times!
This isn't what one typically thinks of in regards to Soldier Hollow but we attended a great Native American Pow Wow. They said it was one of the largest Pow Wow's in the nation. Solder Summit was a great location. The weather was cool. They offered free camping. There were restrooms and showers in the lodge. The Pow Wow was so interesting and my son learned a lot. So many different dancers and so many costumes. I would definitely attend again and would recommend the even.THey had traditional Native American drummers and singers. There was a grandfather drumming and singing in a circle of other drummers and his grandson was sitting on his lap singing. It was so touching. A tribute to the culture passing from one generation to the next.I give Soldier Hollow four stars instead of five beause it is the middle of freaking no where!
We did a biathlon lesson here this weekend. It included a short XC skiing lesson and then a shooting lesson on the Olympic range. We had a great time (our instructor even gave us our paper targets to keep as a souvenir). We went to a few different locations around Park City to go XC skiing and this was by far our favorite. There are a lot of different trails with different difficulty levels to challenge anyone.Worth the drive out to Midway!
Waited an hour to get on the course because of frost, understood that. But their were two four groups so 8 golfers ahead of us. It was not until the group behind us called the course did the marshal move it along quicker.
Had a great time on the tubing hill with kids ranging from 4 years old to 21. Don't go late in the season as the warmer weather makes the hills so slow that you have to push yourself down the hill.
We just had a sledding birthday party and had a great time. Staff was very pleasant. Hot cocoa machine was broken which was a bummer. Other than that it was a blast and we will definitely go again!
We came to Soldier Hollow in December to snowshoe and this weekend to go tubing.Soldier Hollow is beautiful, and it was fun to snowshoe on the same track as the 2002 winter Olympic cross country skiers!Tubing here is a blast! However, this weekend was unseasonable warm and the snow was very slushy. We weren't able to get down the hill without stopping. We went in to tell them about the conditions and they gave us a full refund. Very impressive!! We have been tubing here before, and highly recommend it...just be sure to go when it's cold!!
They would absolutley not consider a refund. Before scheduling make certain you will be able to go at your scheduled time. We scheduled to go tubing as a large extended family on March 1st. When we scheduled they said we would need to pre-pay in order to hold the slots open for our family of about 20 people. They indicated that it often fills up and it is important to schedule in advance. Understandable. That was a month early. Since we scheduled it has been unseasonably warm. THe only snow around the area is the manmade snow there. Not the best conditions to expect to have a fun family experience. ANd since many of us were travelling long distances we decided not to chnce a poor experience. When we called to cancel they said that they will not refund any money. They will reschedule, but not for next year, so we would have to go sometime in March with warmer than normal weather expected. I understand they don't want people scheduling then cancelling, but to not even consider the extenuating circumstances of such warm weather is terrible customer service and I would never consider going to support this business again after this treatment.
Sometimes at a recreation site one can be a little nervous and intimidated. Especially if the activity is new, or involves new procedures. We were a little like that doing the simple things like loading up for the tow, and getting off, and getting in line and getting started-- at each step, the staff were fun and friendly and seemed to understand our silly apprehensions without making us feel silly, I really appreciated that.
What a fun ride and really quite close to Heber and Midway. Stop at the train tracks and take in the Deer Lake views as wells as birds and deer.
